A TASTE FOR WICKER

Hello, and welcome.

I am excited to be launching me new website after years of collecting and selling all things from the 50s to the 80s along with the occasional antique. Mid century fans rejoice, you have found a likeminded buddy – let’s get down to the serious business of styling our homes and swapping ideas.

I have noticed a trend lately with home interior enthusiasts for wicker furniture, which was popular in the late 70s and early 80s. What’s the appeal ? It is chic, smart, elegant easy to care for and oh so versatile. With spring around the corner pick up your peacock chair, place it in the sunniest spot and pore that glass of wine, don’t forget a good book. I have a couple of wicker items for sale at present, and also a couple of fabulous peacock chairs coming soon. Incidentally who remembers attending wicker parties in the 1970s? The hostess provided nibbles and we all oohed and aahed at the produce, fans a plenty the bigger the better, macramé’s for holding your plants, wee wicker dolls prams, too cute.

Talking of plants, my daughter introduced me to a website called Patch. The plants are remarkable take a look., perfect for your colonial look. Ahh the wicker parties, and all their cousins Pippadee anyone ? Of course Tupperware was the trail blazer, check in next month for my collection of vintage Tupperware and kitchenalia which will be going on sale.

Thank you for taking the time to visit, please, please get in touch with your comments and stories. I am hoping to meet lots of new friends who share my passion for the joy of mid century finds.
